Holographic Seashells Nail Stamping

Hey all!

This week,  in continuation of my tone-on-tone theme, I did my first manicure with my new Pueen image plates.

Here's how it came out:

Manicure:
1 coat Perfect Formula Gel Coat
2 1/2 coats Zoya Gemma
Stamped with a England St. George using Pueen 15
1 coat Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Hard as Nails
1 coat Dazzle Dry Top Coat

Zoya Gemma

I really wanted to try out Gemma since I loved the blue flash that shows up in the bottle and only a little in the picture above.  I was so excited...until I painted the first coat.  Then I was annoyed.  It was so sheer that my nails simply looked like I had gangrene.  But I stuck it out and waited to put on a second coat.  It was much better and I breathed a sigh of relief.  I could still see my nail line so I added some more to the tops to get the look above.

Dislike the formula, worth the work to get the result though.

Pueen Plates

I got these plates first, because there were no french tips at all and second, some of the designs were too pretty and unique to pass up.  The images are slightly larger than Bundle Monster, Konad and Mash and all the full nail images have a french tip oval on the bottom so you can place it wherever you wish.  They stamp great as you can see and I can't wait to use more of them.

I picked mine up at Amazon.com, but they are also on eBay.

Here's the video...enjoy!

Pretty Paisley Nail Stamping

Hey all!

This week I went for Pretty Paisley in pink.  While going through my google search for "nail stamping" looking for inspiration, I came across this:

The source is listed as flickr/janebar.

So I went through my stash thinking I must have similar colors.  I did and I love the way it came out!

Manicure:
1 coat Perfect Formula Gel Coat
2 coats Nails Inc Bruton Street
Stamping with Sally Hansen Ruby Rush and Bundle Monster BM 315
1 coat Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Hard as Nails
1 coat Dazzle Dry Top Coat

I am now on a mission to identify the original base color since it's so pretty. But Bruton Street is no shrinking violet.

Pueen Cosmetics Nail Stamping Plates Testing

Hey all!

I recently purchased the new Pueen Nail Stamping set of 25 plates from Amazon, or eBay whichever was more affordable.  I got this set because it had some elegant images that spoke to me and some simple ones for when I don't want to stand out too much.

Aaaaaaaannnnd, no french tip plates.  Woohoo!  I like to keep my nails pretty short and after my disastrous testing of french tip plates from both Bundle Monster and Mash I have said goodbye to those forever.

I used Zoya Kristen as a base and stamped with both Kleancolor Black and Wet 'n Wild Black Creme.

Here's the video...enjoy!

Industrial Chic Cheeky XL Nail Stamping

Hey all!

I have been experimenting with different color combos to see what subtle manicures I can come up with for the workplace.  This week I have a pretty neutral manicure, but with a very obvious pattern.  Here's how it came out.  The smudging on my index finger is definitely operator error...

Manicure
1 coat Perfect Formula Gel Coat
2 coats Zoya Toni (we'll get to this in a bit)
Stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-dri Slick Slate with Cheeky XL A plate
1 coat Hard as Wraps Hard as Nails
1 coat Dazzle Dry Top Coat

This is the first time I've used Toni...and I was not happy with the formula at all.  The first coat was extremely streaky, yet it started to goop up on the brush.  After 2 coats it was opaque on most of my nails but still showed patches in the sunlight.

For some reason I was not feeling this color either.  I was just hoping that the stamping color and design I chose would make me happier with the manicure.  I didn't want to have to start all over again.

Here's Toni in natural light:

I guess they all can't be winners, but the stamping changed everything and I'm really happy with the end result.

Are there any particular designs you wear to work?

Fleeting Flowers Nail Stamping Tutorial

Hey all!

I know it's been a while since I've posted a video, so I'm glad to post one now. Well, this is just a glimpse into how fickle I can be when choosing a nail image. I think I went through three before finally settling on this.

Manicure:
1 coat Perfect Formula Gel Coat
2 coats Dazzle Dry Hearts Caress (more on this color in the video)
Stamped with Konad White using BM 313
1 coat Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Hard as Nails (added little rhinestones from eBay)
1 coat Dazzle Dry Top Coat

This was my first experiment with nail rhinestones.  I'm not sure if I like them or not yet.  I may have done a little overkill with 3 of them on my accent nail, but c'est la vie.

I do ask anyone with tips on applying top coat over the rhinestones to share, because I got tons of bubbles around the rhinestones because there was so much top coat puddling in those areas. (Thanks in advance.)

I also show several dupes on this color in the video:

1. Dazzle Dry Heart's Caress (www.dazzledry.com)
2. Perfect Formula Leah (was on qvc.com, but I don't think it's available anymore)
3. Cult Nails Vintage Pink (www.ninjapolish.com)

You know how it is, you find a color you love, but you want more of it in a formula you know and love.

Without further ado....the video!
